For years we've been asked to make a cookie that contains no dairy products as there are lots of people who are either allergic to dairy, or prefer to not eat any animal products. Well, after searching for the best replacement ingredients that would produce a cookie of which we could all be proud, we here at Cougar Mountain Baking Company feel like we have finally created something worthy of our brand name.
Using a potato starch as egg replacement and an organic palmfruit shortening for butter replacement, we've been able to create a cookie that tastes really good, is chewy & crunchy, and, dare we say, "butter-y". In blind taste-testing here, no one thought it didn't have butter.
So, give these a try and let us know what you think. Should we try to vegan-ize more of our great recipes? Or should we stick to full animal. Either way, enjoy!
Each of our 10 oz boxed cookie packages contains 8 cookies, packaged in two plastic wrapped 4-packs. Each cookie weighs approximately 1.25 oz and is about 3.25" in diameter.
